Cargo Surveyor
A cargo surveyor is an independent party who inspects the condition, quantity, packing or loading of goods and records the findings in a survey report. Surveyors work before shipment, for example to check stuffing and lashing, and after damage to assess the cause and size of the loss for insurers. When you find damage, do not dispose of the goods: photograph them, note the container and seal numbers, remark the delivery receipt and ask the insurer to appoint a surveyor.
