DPU (Delivered at Place Unloaded)

Abbreviation: DPU

Delivered at Place Unloaded means the seller bears costs and risk until the goods are unloaded at the named destination. DPU is the only Incoterms 2020 rule that requires the seller to unload, and it replaced DAT from Incoterms 2010. The place need not be a terminal; it can be a warehouse or a project site. Choose DPU only if the seller can actually organise unloading at the destination. Import clearance remains with the buyer.

  • DAP (Delivered at Place)

Delivered at Place means the seller bears costs and risk until the goods arrive at the named destination, ready for unloading from the arriving vehicle.

  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)

Delivered Duty Paid puts the greatest obligation on the seller: goods are delivered to the named place, import-cleared, with duties and import taxes paid by the seller.

  • Incoterms

Incoterms are the ICC rules that set the delivery point, the transfer of risk, and the split of costs and customs duties between seller and buyer.
