Telex Release
A telex release lets cargo be collected at destination without an original B/L. The shipper surrenders the full set of originals to the carrier or its agent at origin, and the carrier messages its destination agent to release the cargo to the consignee. It is fast when originals would arrive late. The catch is that once the B/L is surrendered, the seller loses control of the goods, so only surrender after payment has been received.
