Payload
Payload is the maximum cargo weight a container may carry: maximum gross mass minus tare. For a 20GP that is 30,480 − 2,230 = 28,250 kg. Container payload is not the only limit: in Indonesia the truck and road class often bind first, so a 20-footer still under its payload can push the vehicle over its permitted gross weight (JBI) or axle load. A load plan is a simulation and does not replace official weighing.
