NIB as Importer Identification Number (API)
The NIB, Indonesia's business identification number, is issued through the OSS system and serves as a company's business identity. For importers it also functions as the importer identification number (API), both general and producer, and as customs access. Without an API, importers face a higher PPh 22 import rate, commonly 7.5% instead of 2.5%. Make sure the business classification codes and address in OSS match the actual activity, as mismatches can block import permits.
