PMC Pallet

In Indonesian: Palet PMC (palet pesawat) Abbreviation: PMC

A PMC is a ULD pallet measuring 3,175 × 2,438 mm, or 125 × 96 inches, with a maximum gross weight of 6,804 kg. Cargo is built up on the pallet, covered with plastic and secured with a net to the contour allowed for a given deck position. Maximum height differs between the lower deck and a freighter's main deck, so check the airline's contours and limits before building. Contour errors are a common reason pallets must be rebuilt at the airport.

  • ULD (Unit Load Device)

A ULD is an aircraft container or pallet used to consolidate many pieces so they can be loaded quickly and locked into the aircraft floor system.

  • LD3 Container (AKE)

The LD3, or AKE, is the most common lower-deck ULD container on wide-body aircraft.

  • Freighter Aircraft

A freighter is an aircraft dedicated to cargo, with no passengers, so its main deck can be filled with pallets and ULD containers.

  • Stretch Wrap

Stretch wrap, or stretch film, is elastic plastic, usually LLDPE, wound under tension around a pallet load so the cartons hold together and do not shift.
