Stripping (Unstuffing)
Stripping, or unstuffing, is unloading goods from a container at the consignee's warehouse or at a CFS. Before opening the doors, check the seal number and condition and photograph the box. Watch for cargo that has shifted and may fall when the doors open, and for residual gas in fumigated containers. Record shortages or damage for claims. Plan labour and equipment before the container arrives so the empty return does not run past free time.
