Freight Forwarder
A freight forwarder organises shipments on behalf of cargo owners: booking ship or aircraft space, arranging trucking, documents, insurance and LCL consolidation. In Indonesia many forwarders also hold a customs broker (PPJK) licence. A forwarder may act as an agent or as a carrier issuing its own house B/L. Know which role applies, because liability for loss or damage differs.
