Shipping Mark
A shipping mark is the marking on each package that allows identification without opening it, such as the consignee's initials, destination port, order number, package number like 15/120, weight and country of origin. Handling symbols such as the umbrella or this-way-up arrows are often added. Marks must match the packing list and survive the weather. In LCL, clear marks cut the risk of packages being mixed up or left behind at the CFS.
