About this calculator
Ships do not wait for late cargo. Every carrier and terminal sets cut-offs before the vessel ETD: CY closing (the container must be in the container yard), SI or document closing (the shipping instruction for the B/L), the VGM cut-off (verified gross mass) and the export customs release that must be in place before the container can gate in. Miss one and the container can be rolled to the next vessel, with storage charges and a broken delivery promise.
This planner counts back from the ETD date and time. Each step has a number of hours before ETD that you can change to match your carrier or terminal schedule: booking, empty container pick-up at the depot, stuffing at the warehouse, the export declaration until release, SI closing, VGM cut-off and CY closing. Steps done in a warehouse or office (booking, empty pick-up, stuffing) can be moved earlier automatically when they fall on a Sunday, a weekend or a holiday you enter.
The result is an ordered timeline with day and time, the time left from now, and a flag when a step has already passed. The default hours are only common practice in Indonesian ports: always follow the closing times on your booking confirmation, because terminals can bring closing forward when a vessel arrives early or in peak season.
Worked example
Vessel ETD Friday 20 November 2026 at 18:00, with the default cut-offs:
- Booking (168 h): Fri 13 Nov 18:00
- Empty pick-up (96 h): Mon 16 Nov 18:00
- Stuffing (72 h): Tue 17 Nov 18:00
- SI/doc closing (48 h): Wed 18 Nov 18:00
- Customs release (36 h): Thu 19 Nov 06:00
- VGM cut-off (30 h): Thu 19 Nov 12:00
- CY closing (24 h): Thu 19 Nov 18:00
With ETD Wednesday 25 November at 10:00, stuffing at 72 h lands on a Sunday and moves to Saturday 21 November.
