IDGRE Indonesia Seaport

Gresik

Kabupaten Gresik, Jawa Timur

About the port

Gresik Port is in Gresik Regency, East Java, on the Madura Strait next to Surabaya. Gresik is known as one of East Java's oldest and largest industrial areas, so its port is closely tied to flows of raw materials and industrial products such as cement, fertiliser, petrochemicals and bulk food commodities.

Gresik's public port falls under PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 and is operated by the Pelindo Multi Terminal branch in Gresik, focusing on bulk and general cargo. Along the Gresik coast there are also many terminals for own use, owned by industrial companies and operated separately from the public port. Containerised cargo from the area mostly moves through terminals at Tanjung Perak or Terminal Teluk Lamong, which sits close to the Gresik border.

Gresik's UN/LOCODE is IDGRE, listed by UNECE with port and road functions. Use the Gresik code only when the vessel actually berths at a port or terminal in Gresik; for containers loaded in Surabaya, use IDSUB. Bulk cargo owners should discuss vessel type, discharge rate and laytime terms with the shipping agent so that estimates of vessel demurrage are more accurate.
