IDCXP Indonesia Seaport Airport

Tanjung Intan (Cilacap)

Cilacap, Jawa Tengah

About the port

Tanjung Intan Port in Cilacap is one of the few large public ports on Java's south coast, facing the Indian Ocean. Its harbour is sheltered by Nusakambangan Island, so vessels can berth even though the southern seas are known for heavy swell.

The port falls under PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 and is operated by the Pelindo Multi Terminal branch at Tanjung Intan. Together with Belawan, Tanjung Intan was among the first ports where the Pelindo Multi Terminal subholding began operating after the 2021 Pelindo merger. Activity is dominated by bulk and general cargo linked to the industrial area of Cilacap.

Cilacap's UN/LOCODE is IDCXP, listed by UNECE with port, road and airport functions. For cargo owners in southern Central Java and Yogyakarta, Tanjung Intan can be an alternative for certain bulk or project cargo instead of trucking goods to the north-coast ports. Regular container services here are limited, however, so most containerised cargo from the region still moves through Tanjung Emas in Semarang. Discuss vessel type, berth and available handling equipment with the shipping agent before confirming the route.
