About the port

Lembar Port is in Lembar district, West Lombok Regency, on the south-western side of Lombok island. It is West Nusa Tenggara's main sea gateway for cargo and also a ferry point linking Lombok with Bali across the Lombok Strait.

The port falls under PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 3 and is operated by the Pelindo Multi Terminal Lembar Badas branch. The Gili Mas terminal for cruise ships is in the same area, so Lembar combines logistics and tourism functions. Much of Lombok's staples, building materials and vehicles arrive through this port.

Lembar's UN/LOCODE is IDLBR, listed by UNECE with port and road functions. Cargo owners shipping from Java to Lombok can choose between container vessels or trucks crossing by ferry via Bali; each has trade-offs in cost, time and handling risk. For trucks taking the ferry, make sure the load stays within dimension and axle-load limits so it is not held at the port. Weather in the Lombok Strait can also delay crossings, so keep a backup schedule during windy seasons.
